FINANCIAL DONATIONS

The Northfield Township Food Pantry could not serve the more than 2,000 local residents who turn to us each month without the continued financial support of the community. Your contribution is put to immediate use right here in our area. Financial donations assist us in purchasing food and providing grocery store cards. The Northfield Township Food Pantry, a 501 (c)3 organization, can accept cash, checks, and credit cards, as well as honorary and memorial gifts, and corporate matching gifts. To make a safe and secure on-line donation, click either the Google Checkout or PayPal buttons on the right. Visa and MasterCard donations can also be made over the phone by calling 847-724-8300.

Thank you to Village Treasure House for their continued support of the Pantry.

Please visit them at 1460 Paddock Drive, Northbrook.

Holiday meals donated by Skokie Valley Baptist Church

Dear Friends:

Now that the holiday season is behind us and a new year has begun, let’s take a moment to reflect on the year that has just ended.

The past year proved to be a busy one at the Northfield Township Food Pantry.  We continued to see an increase in demand for Pantry assistance, with nearly 700 local households seeking Pantry services. That increase caused us to evaluate our services to ensure that we could continue meeting the demands for basic food assistance.  As a result, we eliminated our school supply program. Fortunately that project was picked up by the Rotary Club of Glenview Sunrise and Gloria Dei Lutheran Church and new backpacks and school supplies were distributed to school-age children whose families use the Pantry. Thanks to our supporters, none of our core services had to be cut.  We have been able to keep up with the demand.  That is due to the generosity of individuals, groups, companies, teams, religious organizations and clubs who all contribute to ensure that we are able to continue providing this much-needed assistance to our neighbors in need.  We are grateful to the many people and groups who dug deep and increased their financial support for the Pantry during 2011.

In addition to the generous financial support we have received, we could not serve our clients without our corps of dedicated Pantry volunteers.  Whether they are working in the Pantry stocking shelves, sorting food and packing grocery bags, identifying new support or out in the community picking up food donations, our volunteers work hard keeping the Pantry running smoothly.

We cannot thank you, our donors and volunteers, enough for all you do in support of the Pantry and its mission: Hunger is Unacceptable in Our Community.

Best wishes for a healthy and prosperous 2012!
