Northfield Township Food Pantry volunteers Barbara Balch and Ron Bernardi received Cook County Sheriff Thomas J. Dart’s Senior Medals of Honor at a ceremony on Tuesday, April 15. Each year Sheriff Dart recognizes seniors from all over Cook County for their volunteer efforts and commitment to making a difference in the lives of others.
Ron is well known in the community for having a big heart and supporting many local organizations. Ron is always ready to help and ensure that the Pantry has everything it needs to provide assistance to our neighbors in need. Barb has been a volunteer at the Pantry for over three years. She is committed to helping the Pantry run smoothly, in order to provide the best service to our clients.
“We are extremely fortunate to have volunteers like Barb and Ron, who are truly dedicated to our belief that Hunger is Unacceptable in Our Community. They are both committed to making a difference in the lives of others,” said Supervisor Brickman.
CONGRATULATIONS RON AND BARB!
